On average, our students stay with Dancemaker from 7 to 10 years, not only learning the theatrical arts, but developing strong values and self-confidence, and eventually growing up to become excellent representatives of our Dancemaker community. Request an appointment here.
Ray Bradbury’s “The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit” at the Pasadena Playhouse, as well as industrials with Nike, LA Gear and Apple Computer.
As director and choreographer:
“Grease,” “Oliver,” “The Wizard of Oz,” and “West Side Story.”
As choreographer:
“The King and I,” “Oklahoma,” “Li’l Abner,” “Brigadoon,” "Smokey Joe's Café,” and “Kiss Me Kate” with the Covina Valley Playhouse, and “Fiddler on The Roof.” In the late 80s, I also produced, directed, and choreographed “Hot Legs” on Broadway at the famous Latin Quarter in NYC.
For the past 23 years, I have also been employed as a staff choreographer for Carlton Burnett Productions, a staging company for Rodeo Drive Fashion Shows and numerous corporate fundraisers throughout Southern California. Through their training at Dancemaker, my students not only get a well-rounded education in the performing arts (dance, voice and acting) they also have the opportunity to perform at major events. Annual events include The Miss Covina Scholarship Pageant, of which I have been the resident choreographer for the past fifteen years; The Young Musicians Association (fundraiser), Children’s Hospital of California (fundraiser), City of Hope (fundraiser), The United Hostess Charity, The Long Beach Grand Prix, and, at the Orange County Performing Arts Center, “The Center of Fashion” which raises money for cultural events throughout Southern California.
When they participate in these events, the students have the opportunity to work with some of the finest professional talent in the entertainment industry...the list includes Cyd Charisse, Florence Henderson, Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Cybil Sheppard, Ben Stiller, Cindy Crawford, Barbara Eden and Ann Margaret.
Over the past 20 years, as the owner and Artistic Director of Dancemaker, along with the collaboration of my wife, Bernadette Meehan, an experienced performer and teacher in her own right, I have built a continuously growing and thriving, family-oriented, community-friendly cultural environment where many young people have the opportunity to realize their dreams in a positive, productive, and healthy atmosphere.
